Montessu is named after the largest archaeological site in Sardinia, located near Agricola Punica’s second estate of Narcao within the Basso Sulcis region in southwest Sardinia. The Sulcis region is dominated by Carignano, an indigenous grape that is known for its elegant and velvety tannins. Carignano thrives in the local climate and well-exposed brown earth composed of calcareous clay and sandy soil.

VARIETAL: Carignano (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%), Cabernet Franc (10%), Merlot (10%), Syrah (10%)
AROMAS: Red cherries, blackberries and Mediterranean herbs

A partnership between three winegrowers from the Rhône Valley – Nicolas Jaboulet, Guillaume Sorrel and Alexandre Caso. Maison les Alexandrins produces wines in a style at once contemporary and timeless, always from exceptional vineyards unearthed by Alexandre Caso, a specialist in the terroirs of the northern Rhône Valley. Some of the grapes come from the village of Beaumont Monteux which produces very generous, precise wines.
