2023 Matthiasson, Cressida Vineyard, Los Carneros — Available at Wineaux
Farming is a natural extension of winemaking for Steve Mattiason & Jill Klien Mattiason, They've both worked for many years in the sustainable agriculture and local food movement, and in 2003 they started Matthiasson Wines based on those values — purity, sense of place, respect, responsibility, deliciousness.
The deeply flavorful wines are refreshing, complement food, and are moderate in alcohol. This small family winery is fiercely independent, no partners or investors, just the vision of Jill and Steve and a hard-working and passionate team. This independence allows them to farm organically, with no compromises in the winery or vineyard, creating the beautiful wines for which they are known.

Longaví is the personal project of two friends from different continents who came together in 2012 to produce wines together, Chilean Julio Bouchon and South African David Nieuwoudt. Longaví, meaning “snake´s head”, draws on the spirit and legends of two continents. The name derives from a stratovolcano called Nevado de Longaví, a perennially snowcapped peak of 3242m, situated in the Maule region in Chile.
This is a large, lone-standing crater, showing immense stature, set majestically at the foot of the Andes. A small town, named after the volcano was established here long after this crater was formed.
